When the sun has yet to rise, Lung Cu—Vietnam’s northernmost tip—is already cloaked in thick fog and drifting clouds. The Lung Cu Flag Tower, emerging from the mist in the dim morning light, creates a sacred and surreal atmosphere. The best time to go cloud hunting in Ha Giang is from September to March, especially in the early morning between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM.
Check the weather forecast beforehand – mornings after rain or with high humidity often yield the best clouds.
