Morning

  • Ride north to Lung Cu, the northernmost point of Vietnam
  • Climb the 286 steps to the flagpole, about 1,700 m
  • Lo Lo Chai village of the Black Lo Lo, beneath the flagpole

  • Lunch in the Dong Van area

Afternoon

  • Ma Pi Leng Pass above the Nho Que River gorge
  • Tu San Canyon viewpoint
  • Down to the river: boat through the Tu San Canyon, ticket included

Evening

  • Back up to Meo Vac, check in to the homestay
  • Home-cooked dinner with the host family

Day 3 · Meo Vac → back road south → Du Gia village and waterfall

About 90 km · swim under the falls · Tay stilt-house homestay

Morning

  • Breakfast, then ride south on the back road to Du Gia
  • Green valleys and a mountain stream, the least travelled stretch of the loop

Noon

  • Lunch at a roadside spot in the valleys

Afternoon

  • Arrive Du Gia village, tucked into a green valley
  • Walk to the Du Gia waterfall and swim in the natural pool
  • Or cycle through the Tay hamlets and terraced fields at Coc Pang

Evening

  • Settle in with the host family in a stilt house
  • Dinner from the family garden, fire and fellow travellers

Day 4 · Du Gia → Ha Giang city → evening bus to Hanoi
