What Is a Ha Giang Loop Private Tour?
A Ha Giang Loop private tour means the guide, the riders and the schedule are for your party only. Nobody else joins, so the day moves at your speed: a longer coffee stop above the Nho Que, an early night if someone is tired, a detour when the light is good.

What Is a Ha Giang Loop Group Tour?
A group tour is a fixed departure that you join. You meet the other guests at breakfast on day one, ride together behind the same guide, and share the homestay dorm at night. For many backpackers this is the whole point: the Loop is famous for its evenings as much as its views.
Our Essential tours are the group option. Groups are capped at 10 guests, and they run from a single guest, so a solo traveller never has to wait for the group to fill up. Guests who arrive on the night bus from Hanoi get a free dorm bed at Ali Hostel from 04:00 until the 09:00 start.

If you are two people who want your own room, the real gap is smaller. On the 3-day group tour a private room costs 350,000 VND per room for each of the two homestay nights, so 350,000 VND each. That brings the group tour to 4,600,000 VND per person, against 5,250,000 VND on the Ha Giang Loop private tour. Is a Private Tour Safer Than a Group Tour?

A smaller group does make it easier for one guide to watch everyone, and the pace can be set for the most careful person rather than the fastest.
